Switching billing systems?

An alternative to Splynx, Jasiyo
and the rest

If you are evaluating Splynx, Jasiyo, Internetily, Ndovu Connect, Netzur, Xceednet, Lipanet, Powercode, UISP or Sonar, or are on one of them and want out, here is what Iterative Billing offers and how switching works. We only make claims about our own product; verify any comparison against the vendor’s current pricing page, and see our date-stamped comparisons below.

Why operators move to Iterative Billing

Per-router or per-seat pricing in US dollars.

Pay per active customer, capped: KSh 15 in Kenya (never more than KSh 7,000 a month up to 1,000 customers), $0.135 elsewhere. Routers and hotspot sites are never metered.

M-Pesa as an add-on module or a third-party plugin.

M-Pesa Paybill, Till and STK Push via Daraja are native, alongside Co-op Bank, KopoKopo, SasaPay, Pesapal, Flutterwave, Paystack, MTN MoMo and WaafiPay.

OLT management, TR-069 and monitoring priced as separate add-on modules.

Huawei GPON OLT automation, TR-069 WiFi management, SNMP monitoring and built-in RADIUS are part of the same platform, not bolted on from another vendor.

A migration that means re-entering every subscriber.

Complimentary migration assistance: customers, packages, billing history and router configuration imported from your current system.

Live in three steps

  1. 1

Reviewed within one business day, then a 3-day trial. Adding a MikroTik is fully automated: at most 8 minutes to fully up and running.

  2. 2

    Send us your export

A spreadsheet or an export from your current system is enough for migration.

  3. 3

    Cut over

Point RADIUS at the platform and switch the payment callbacks. Subscribers keep their credentials.

Pay for the network you run

Billed in Kenyan shillings. From 1 October 2026. Routers and hotspot sites are not metered.

Caps and estimator
PPPoE and Static IP

KSh 15 per active customer a month

Never more than KSh 7,000 a month up to 1,000 customers. The cap is reached at 467 customers, so customers 468 to 1,000 add nothing to your bill.

Hotspot

2% of revenue you actually collect

Never more than KSh 3,000 a month. Failed payments, refunds and reversals are never counted.

Monthly minimum

KSh 1,000

Applied once, to the total of both meters, never on top. Routers and hotspot sites are not metered.

Kenyan networks are billed in shillings. Outside Kenya: $0.135 per customer (max $63), 2% of hotspot (max $27), $9 minimum.

Questions operators ask

Is Iterative Billing a Splynx alternative?

Yes. Iterative Billing covers ISP billing, MikroTik and Huawei OLT management, built-in RADIUS, hotspot vouchers, a customer portal and a mobile operator app, with usage-based pricing and unlimited routers. Whether it is the right alternative depends on the features you rely on; the 3-day trial for approved networks is the fastest way to check.

How does pricing compare?

From 1 October 2026 Iterative Billing charges KSh 15 per active customer, never more than KSh 7,000 a month up to 1,000 customers, plus 2% of collected hotspot revenue capped at KSh 3,000, with unlimited routers and hotspot sites. Compare that with your current invoice, including any per-router or per-module charges.

Will my subscribers notice the switch?

They keep their PPPoE credentials and pay the same Paybill or Till. What changes is that activation becomes automatic and they receive SMS confirmations.

How long does migration take?

Most operators are live within a day of sending their export. Our team imports customers, packages and history for you at no cost.

What if I want to leave later?

You can export all your data in CSV or JSON at any time. After cancellation, data is retained for 30 days in case you want to return.
