How does Iterative Billing pricing work?
From 1 October 2026 you pay for the network you actually run: KSh 15 per active PPPoE or Static IP customer a month, and 2% of the hotspot revenue you successfully collect. Both meters are capped, so the bill stops rising well before your network does. The monthly minimum is KSh 1,000.
What is the most I can pay?
PPPoE and Static IP never cost more than KSh 5,000 a month up to 500 customers (the cap is reached at 334 customers), KSh 10,000 up to 1,000 customers, and KSh 40,000 beyond that, where each customer above 1,000 costs KSh 12. Hotspot never costs more than KSh 3,000 a month until you collect KSh 600,000 in a month, and never more than KSh 5,000 after that. Paid add-ons are extra and optional.
What counts as an active customer?
A PPPoE or Static IP customer you are actively managing on the platform in that month. Whether you manage 70, 200 or 700 customers, you are charged for those customers, never for capacity you have not filled.
How is hotspot revenue counted?
Only revenue that was successfully collected through the platform. Failed payments, refunds and reversed transactions are excluded.
Is the minimum charged on top?
No. The KSh 1,000 minimum ($9 outside Kenya) applies once, to the total of both meters. If your metered total is higher, you pay the metered total and nothing else.
Which currency will I be billed in?
Kenyan networks are billed in Kenyan shillings. Networks outside Kenya are billed in US dollars from their own table: $0.135 per active customer capped at $45 up to 500 customers and $90 up to 1,000, then $0.108 per customer capped at $360; 2% of collected hotspot revenue capped at $27; and a $9 minimum. It is not an exchange-rate conversion, so the caps sit at the same network size in both currencies.
When does this pricing start?
On 1 October 2026. Networks already on the platform keep their current plan until then, and their dashboard shows an estimate of the new charge in advance.
Is there a setup fee or a contract?
There is a one-time new account fee of KSh 1,000 ($9 outside Kenya), paid once after your 3-day trial to activate the account. There is no long-term contract. Routers and hotspot sites are not metered: connect as many as your network needs.
What do add-ons cost?
The core platform (PPPoE, Hotspot, Static IP, payments, RADIUS, the customer app and portal) is covered by the usage charge. Optional add-ons are billed monthly on top: NOC Monitor KSh 1,000, OLT management KSh 1,500 per Huawei OLT or KSh 1,000 per VSOL OLT (ACS free on every ONU), ACS on its own KSh 2 per ONU, Customer Support KSh 1,500 and Finance & Accounting KSh 2,500. Network map, engineer tools, IPv6, the shop, hotspot ads, WhatsApp and a custom domain cost nothing. Bundles cost a little less than their parts: Network Ops KSh 2,350, Business Suite KSh 3,750 and Legacy Partner KSh 4,750 a month.
